Peawah river West, free camp spot

We decided to try our luck with a free rest stop. After all we had a generator, there was a toilet, a long drop! No showers but we could go without for one night. It was actually quite nice. There was about 12 other vans that had also stopped as well as a couple of campervans and two buses. We met a group of Aboriginies who were headed off to Katherine for a conference. They had a fire going, singing songs playing guitar and sleeping in their swags over night the youngest child was one year old. It highlighted a real difference between the little impact they had on the environment compared to us who had the petrol generator running to create power. Was a good experience. The kids had just as much fun picking up sticks, collecting rocks.
